Rabbit proof fence

I just finished reading a great book called 'Rabbit Proof Fence". It has been made into a movie but I haven't seen that.
It's the true story of 3 young Aboriginal girls who were taken from their families and sent to live in a kind of orphanage, down near Perth. The girls escaped and walked back to their families. I can't remember how long the journey was, but around 2, 000 km. It took them about 9 weeks and all the time they had to avoid the police and people who were searching from them.
It's an amazing story as the girls were aged about 10, 12 and 13.
It's 130 pages long so you could borrow it from your local library and read it if you are interested.

Comments:
i have seen this movie before, its a good story, and its unlikely the young girls can walk such a long way, but unexpectedly they did it, and also it a tragedy. anyway its a good story.

Yes Wong. Andy is correct, it's unlikely but true. This happened in the 1930s and these were Aboriginal girls who knew how to survive in the outback. People gave them food and they were able to walk really long distances. Read the book and see if you believe it.
